Se trata de un conjunto de estilo hebreo con figuras del taller de Juan Antonio Griñán, y estará abierto al público hasta el 6 de enero
El presidente de la Región de Murcia, Fernando López Miras, inauguró hoy el belén monumental del Palacio de San Esteban, realizado por la Asociación Belenista de Fuente Álamo y la Agrupación Belenista José de Nazaret de La Arboleja (Murcia). El conjunto permanecerá abierto al público en la iglesia desacralizada de San Esteban hasta el 6 de enero de 2025.
Durante el acto, que estuvo amenizado con villancicos interpretados por el Coro del Colegio Jesús María de Murcia, López Miras recordó que “el belén fue una creación de San Francisco de Asís en la Italia del siglo XIII, pero tuvo que llegar a Murcia para adquirir esa forma tan nuestra, tan identificable”. Así, el presidente puso en valor que “el belén es murciano por los cuatro costados”.
El jefe del Ejecutivo regional añadió que “si San Esteban es la casa de todos los murcianos, es lógico que se vista también de Navidad con este belén, y que recordemos todas esas tradiciones tan nuestras que viviremos estos días”.
Las 160 figuras humanas y 110 animales que componen todas las escenas, de estilo hebreo, proceden del taller de Juan Antonio Griñán, maestro artesano fallecido en diciembre de 2022 y que alcanzó un reconocido prestigio. Dichas figuras presentan un tamaño de 30 centímetros, y una de las características de la obra es la difusión de los oficios artesanos relacionados con el mundo del belén.
El conjunto ocupa una superficie de 49 metros cuadrados, a cuatro caras, y se estructura en cinco ambientes representativos de Nazareth (Anunciación y sueño de San José), Ein Karem (Visitación y mercado), Belén (posada, aparición del ángel a los pastores y nacimiento), Jerusalén (Palacio de Herodes) y Desierto (huida a Egipto).
Uno de los montadores de este belén ha sido José Fructuoso, quien recibió la semana pasada la insignia de oro de la Federación Española de Belenistas, máxima distinción a nivel nacional.
El horario de visitas del belén es de lunes a viernes, de 10:00 a 14:00 horas y de 17:30 a 20:30 horas, mientras que sábados y domingos la apertura en la franja de tarde se mantiene y la de mañana será de 11:00 a 14:00 horas. En Nochebuena y Nochevieja, el belén sólo estará abierto por la mañana, y en Navidad y Año Nuevo sólo por la tarde.
