The Jiménez confectionery, from Puente Tocinos (Murcia), has been the winner of the II Regional Meatloaf Contest, which was held today at the Regional Craft Center.

The contest is organized by the Regional Association of Pastry Entrepreneurs of Murcia (Arepa), in collaboration with the General Directorate of Consumption and Crafts.

A total of 11 participants have been presented, who are registered in the pastry trade, in the Artisan Registry of the Region of Murcia, and active. The jury was made up of professionals from the guild. The winner has obtained a trophy and a plaque for his establishment.

The General Director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, highlighted the "high level of the pastry chefs who have participated in the contest and the quality of their preparations".

The meatloaf is a benchmark product of the gastronomy of the Region, made with a recipe that dates back to the end of the 17th century, when ordinances were enacted to regulate its production standards.
