The Community grants 50,000 euros to five artisan associations in the Region

Last year, five craft associations in the region received a total of 50,000 euros in order to maintain and promote craft activity. The Ministry of Business, Employment, Universities and Spokesperson granted the grants to the Craft Association of the Region of Murcia, the Artisan Association of Lorca (Artelor), the Glass Association of Santa Lucía de Cartagena, the Artisan Association of Totana ( Asart) and Belencribs.

The general director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, visited today, together with the councilors of Tourism, Commerce, Health and Consumption, and of Education and Employment of Cartagena, Manuel Padín and Irene Ruiz, respectively, the Santa Lucía Glass Museum , which has received a subsidy of 18,000 euros from the Community, an amount to which is added another aid of about 5,000 euros from the Consistory.

Moreno stressed that “the grant will allow the association that manages the museum to have an electric furnace for blown glass intended for training courses. With these grants we intend to promote craft activity and provide aid associations so that they can develop their activity and train people interested in these arts”.

With the aid granted, the Crea association will acquire furniture for the organization of artisan courses and workshops in its new headquarters, Artelor will celebrate the craftsman's week in Lorca and will participate in Feramur 2022; Asart will acquire an electric ceramic oven to carry out training and development courses in pottery and ceramics and Belencribs will invest the subsidy in the promotion of nativity scenes.

Moreno stressed that "the artisans of the Region, without losing their essence and tradition, have a great capacity to innovate and adapt to new artistic and technical currents, for this reason, from the regional government we continue working so that crafts occupy their space. at a national and international level, because it has the ability to compete at the highest level and in any market”.
