El Ayuntamiento de Murcia anuncia un cambio en la ubicación del Mercadillo Artesanal programado para la Feria de septiembre 2024. Este año, el popular evento se trasladará a la Plaza De la Cruz Roja, ubicada en el acceso al Puente Nuevo o de Hierro.
El objetivo de acercar los productos artesanos a los murcianos y visitantes que se acerquen a disfrutar estos días de feria, constituyendo un motivo más para que la gente pasee por nuestra ciudad y así ayudar a revitalizar el comercio y ofrecer una experiencia enriquecida tanto para los residentes como para los visitantes.
En esta edición, el mercadillo contará con 14 casetas de madera especialmente decoradas, duplicando su capacidad respecto al año pasado. En estos puestos, artesanos de la región mostrarán una amplia gama de productos, destacando especialmente las joyas y bisutería de diseño único, junto con artículos decorativos y otros productos artesanales de alta calidad. El mercadillo estará abierto de lunes a jueves de 18.00 a 23.00 horas, y de viernes a domingo en horario de mañana de 10.00 a 14.00 horas y de tarde de 18.00 a 23.00 horas.

El mercado artesanal se ha convertido en un elemento central de la Feria de Septiembre, atrayendo a residentes y visitantes que buscan productos únicos y de calidad. Además de realzar el atractivo cultural y turístico de las festividades, este mercadillo contribuye a la economía local, proporcionando a los artesanos una valiosa oportunidad para dar a conocer su trabajo y estimulando el comercio en el centro de la ciudad.
Esta tradición que comenzó en 1266, cuando Alfonso X concedió a Murcia su primera feria anual. Así como en aquel entonces la feria fue fundamental para repoblar y enriquecer la ciudad, el Mercadillo Artesanal de hoy sigue siendo un motor de dinamización económica y cultural que, al mismo tiempo, honra ese legado histórico, manteniendo vivo el espíritu de las antiguas ferias murcianas.
