The Craft Centers of Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca join the commemoration of International Women's Day with an open day on Monday and Tuesday, March 7 and 8, with activities such as an exhibition of products made by different craftswomen from the Region, free workshops, live demonstrations of trades, live music and gifts.
The General Director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, will hold a meeting on Monday at the Craft Center of Murcia with craftsmen and craftsmen from the Region to recognize their professional and creative work. The ownership of the account must correspond to the applicant. · Project or report describing the design, decoration, dynamization (live demonstrations, exhibitions, raffles, workshops, etc.), promotion (design of posters, radio spots, press advertisements, etc.) and control (supervision of products, schedules, stand decoration, etc.).

· Proposal of bases and conditions for participation in the Show.

The Murcia Craft Center hosts an exhibition of hand-painted natural silk garments
The General Director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, inaugurated the exhibition 'Acción Sedante', at the Murcia Regional Crafts Centre, a fashion collection born from the collaboration of the artisan Rosana González and the designer Charo Romero, made up of Hand-painted works in 100% natural silk.

A total of 78 stands participate in the 37th edition of the Murcia Region Christmas Craft Show, inaugurated today by the Minister of Business, Employment, Universities and Spokesperson, Valle Miguélez, on Paseo Alfonso X El Sabio.
Of the total number of participants, 76 are artisans, and there is also an NGO and an institutional stand. The craft show will open until January 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the morning and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the afternoon. On December 24 and 31 it will be open until 3:00 p.m., and will remain closed on December 25 and January 1.
Minister Valle Miguélez stressed that "this traditional display that symbolizes the beginning of Christmas is a showcase to promote the work of artisans in the Region and to encourage citizens to make their purchases in local businesses, which allows preserving trades and generate job".
You can find artisan stands of honey, nativity scenes, jewelry, embroidery, beer, wine, cheese, confectionery, bakery, fruit and vegetable preserves, marzipan and Christmas sweets, bookbinding, works with paper and cardboard, jewelry, toys, leather goods, artistic metal, figures, dolls, painting and drawing, silver, regional costumes, designs in stone, glass and shoes.
Of the 76 participating artisans, 73 are from the Region, from municipalities such as Abarán, Águilas, Bullas, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cartagena, Cehegín, Ceutí, Jumilla, Las Torres de Cotillas, Lorca, Molina de Segura, Moratalla, Mula, Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras and Yecla, two artisans come from Albacete and one from Valencia.
The exhibition is organized by Crea Asociación Artesana, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Consumption and Crafts, and the Murcia City Council.
Workshops and product presentation
At the institutional stand, which is located in the central part of the exhibition, at the intersection of Alfonso X and Jaime I, a series of activities will be held, such as exhibitions by the cabinetmaker Francisco Montero Fenollos, the winegrower Lorenzo Boris Abellán, the milliner Inés Fernández Montesinos and the Mental Health Association of Murcia and counties, Afes.

EXHIBITION OF EMPODERARTE PROJECT PRODUCTS
This morning at 11:30 a.m., the inauguration of the exhibition of the works carried out by women victims of gender violence in the workshops given by regional artisans and carried out in 17 regional municipalities took place at the Murcia Regional Craft Center. in the Empoderarte project, with the assistance of the Director of Women and Gender Diversity and the General Director of Consumption and Crafts.
In this coordinated project between the two directorates for the second consecutive year, it has served as an instrument so that women who are victims of violence or who are susceptible to it, can have confidence and security in themselves and take advantage of their personal resources, discovering their creative and imaginative capacity and enhancing your talents, strengths and aptitudes to move forward.
In total, 24 workshops have been held with very different artisan themes, from initiation to pottery, ceramics, basketry, embroidery, costume jewelry, jewelry, painting, making headdresses, flower arranging, making woolen toys, confectionery and pastry making, learning the technique of stained glass, etc. throughout the entire regional geography and with the collaboration of the Regional Network of Specialized Care Centers for women victims of gender violence ( Cavis ). The General Directorate of Consumption and Crafts has organized a series of free circular economy and recycling workshops for schoolchildren in the Region of Murcia.
The workshops are held on Saturdays, from November 20 to December 11, and last one hour, in two shifts, at 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., at the Murcia Craft Center .
The general director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, indicated that "the objective of these workshops is to make children aware of responsible consumption habits and the importance of recycling, reusing and reducing consumption, through games."

The artist María Luisa Peaguda has obtained the Regional Craft Award, at a gala held today at the Murcia Regional Craft Center. The jury, made up of eight personalities from the world of crafts, art, design, gastronomy, as well as the public, who have been able to vote online and physically, has highlighted his work as a whole, his professional career, creativity and own identity. This award is endowed with 3,000 euros.
The Minister of Business, Employment, Universities and Spokesperson, Valle Miguélez, highlighted "the quality of the artisans of the Region, who combine tradition with innovation and who stand out for their creativity, social and environmental responsibility."
Miguélez pointed out that "these awards aim to recognize exemplary actions in the artisan sector, as well as promote development and competitiveness in artisan companies and associations, encouraging actions of design, innovation and adaptation to the market".
The Artisan Product Award has gone to Lucía Ciller, for investigating the forms of coexistence between tradition and the avant-garde and seeking new paths that guarantee the permanence of crafts; The Artisan Entrepreneurship Award went to Lorenzo Boris Abellán, for the Tinaha wine that unites crafts on the continent and regional content and character with clay from Lorca, jars from Totana and grapes from the Sierra de La Pila.

THE DIRECTOR GENERAL SONIA MORENO PARTICIPATES IN THE FIRST MEETING OF THE CRAFT OBSERVATORY
The general director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, participated last week in the meeting of the Crafts Observatory, which had not been operational since 2014 and where representatives of the autonomous communities and cities participate, as well as the Organization of Artisans of Spain (OAE)-Oficio y Arte, and the National Craft Reference Center for innovation and experimentation in Vocational Training.

170 women victims of gender violence improve their work and social skills through crafts
A total of 21 workshops of different trades will be taught during October and November in craft centers and municipal buildings, in collaboration with the CAVI of the Region of Murcia
A total of 170 women victims of gender violence will participate during October and November in the second edition of the 'Empoderarte' project, financed by the General Directorate for Women and Gender Diversity and organized by the General Directorate for Consumption and Crafts, together with the Network of Specialized Care Centers for Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) in the Region of Murcia and other associations.
'Empoderarte' tries to get vulnerable women to train in trades through craft workshops to "improve their professional and social skills, the transmission of knowledge for employment and their self-esteem as a tool for empowerment", explained the general director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, who together with the General Director of Women and Gender Diversity, María José García, presented this morning the new edition of the project.
"The idea is to offer an alternative therapy to women who are victims of gender-based violence and encourage their creativity and job placement, either in craft companies or as a self-employment formula," added Moreno.
For her part, María José García stressed that with this resource "we promote the employability of women who are victims of gender-based violence, a social action that aims to help them be independent and free to develop their vital project," she said.
This project is part of social craftsmanship, which aims to rehabilitate or insert groups at risk of social exclusion through training activities, social or labor insertion that use craft trades, techniques and processes, in accordance with the law. Crafts from the Region of Murcia.
Thus, a total of 21 workshops of different artisan trades, such as esparto, jewelry, painting, embroidery, pottery or flower arrangements, among others, will be taught during craft centers and municipal buildings, in collaboration with the CAVI of the Region of Murcia.
The workshops will be held in three-hour sessions, for five days and with a duration of 15 hours in each of the municipalities where they will be taught (Águilas, Caravaca de la Cruz, Ceutí, Cieza, Cartagena, Fuente Álamo, Lorca, Mazarrón, Molina de Segura, Mula, Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras, San Javier, Santomera, Torre Pacheco, Totana and Yecla). The CAVIs have organized small groups of a maximum of 10 users to carry out these workshops.
21 artisans of recognized prestige will be in charge of giving these workshops to transmit to women the knowledge of their trade, the making of artisan products, the personal strengthening of women and even their initiation as self-employed. As a result of these workshops, an exhibition of the work carried out at the Regional Craft Center of Murcia will be organized on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on November 25.
II REGIONAL MEAT PIE COMPETITION
With the 2nd regional meat pie contest, the aim is to promote this Murcian gastronomic product on the one hand, promote its excellence, and on the other, recognize the pastry artisans who made it one of the benchmarks in Murcian gastronomy.
Participants must be registered or in the process of being registered in the Artisan Registry of the Region of Murcia in the profession of Pastry Chef before the contest begins and be active at the time of the competition.
A jury made up of qualified professionals from the guild will assess the meat pies in a tasting at the Murcia Regional Craft Center. The product with the highest score will be recognized as 'Best Meatloaf 2021' at the II Regional Meatloaf Contest and will obtain a trophy and a plaque for the establishment.
This typical Murcian recipe dates back to the end of the 17th century, when ordinances were already enacted to regulate its production standards. It is a round cake with a top of thin puff pastry in the shape of concentric rings, stuffed with beef, chorizo and egg, although there is a variety that substitutes beef for brains.
This contest, organized by the Regional Association of Confectionery Entrepreneurs of Murcia (Arepa) together with the General Directorate of Consumption and Crafts, aims to highlight the importance of one of the most representative products of regional confectionery and demonstrate that its costly preparation and its nutritional richness distances it from the concept of fast food.

Six entrepreneurs receive, by Info, recognition as Entrepreneurs of the Month

The Development Institute (Info) has today delivered the diplomas accrediting Entrepreneur of the Month, corresponding to the second and third quarters, to six business projects that focus on very varied practical solutions to respond to technological challenges in everyday life, from traffic , to hearing health, passing through the promotion of the circular economy, among others.
“The business projects that we have been awarding with the distinction of Entrepreneur of the Month for years have evolved remarkably over time. The Craft Awards of the Region of Murcia receive 38 applications for participation
The awards have eight categories in which the artisan product, new talents, entrepreneurship, the promotion of crafts, nativity scenes and food products are distinguished.
The General Directorate of Consumption and Crafts has received 38 requests to participate in the Craft Awards of the Region of Murcia. Seven have been the interested parties who have presented candidacy to participate in more than one category and 20 candidates in a single category.
The general director Sonia Moreno stressed that “these awards are institutional recognition at the highest level for those actions recognized as excellent in the field of crafts. They promote the development and competitiveness of artisans, companies and entities or organizations, and encourage innovation, design and the ability to adapt to the market”.
These awards aim to give prestige to craftsmanship, presenting it in an environment of quality and excellence, to recognize the merits of those craftsmen and companies that, preserving tradition, stand out for their creativity, social and environmental responsibility, adaptation to the market and capacity for innovation, At the same time, entrepreneurship is encouraged.
The awards have eight categories: the Regional Craft Award, which recognizes the set of a work and consolidated career; the Artisan Product Award, which distinguishes those artisan products or collections made and marketed in the last two years; the Artisan Entrepreneurship Award, which recognizes the craftsman who has stood out for the introduction of new concepts of design, innovation, distribution and marketing; the Promociona Artesanía Award for Private Entities, which distinguishes entities that present programs, campaigns or initiatives to promote crafts; the Promociona Artesanía Prize for Public Entities, aimed at entities or public organizations that present programs, campaigns or initiatives to promote crafts; the Belén Artesano Prize for artisan products or collections; the Food Craft Award, which recognizes those artisans and their products that are consistent with factors of competitiveness in the food sector; and the New Talents Award, intended for those students from the Region who present an artisan project with a description, plans and budget.
The Regional Craft Prize is awarded with 3,000 euros. The rest of the categories have an economic endowment of 1,500 euros, except for the Promociona Artesanía Prize for Public Entities, which does not have an endowment.
A jury made up of professionals from the sector will study all the candidatures and cast their vote to determine the winners.
