The craftsman PEPE REINA GARCIA was born in the Murcian neighborhood of Carmen in 1944. After two years of apprenticeship, at the age of 17 he stays with the workshop of his teacher, José Hermoso, a Cartagena native who moved to Murcia when the Glass Factory closed. from Saint Lucia. He is a graduate of the Real Fábrica de Cristales de la Granja de San Ildefonso, where he has taught courses and workshops related to this ancestral trade. In 1993 he was registered in the Register of Crafts of the Region of Murcia as a glassmaker and decided to make himself known at the national level by attending Fairs, such as FARCAMA in Toledo, Alicante, IFA, EUROARTE in Madrid, as well as the regional fairs of FERAMUR, IFEPA, etc. He has also participated in several exhibitions at the Casas Regionales de Murcia in Palma de Mallorca, in Barcelona, in Valencia, in Lyon (France) and in Le Chaux de Fonds (Switzerland). Among the recognitions and awards that this endearing artisan, widely known by the public that attends craft shows and fairs, has received, it is worth highlighting the Mercury Prize for Crafts in 1994 and the Regional Crafts Prize 2018 for his career and work. consolidated. He is a Master Craftsman for the Region of Murcia since 2000.
