The Regional Crafts Centers of Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca organize during the months of July and August a collective exhibition called 'Crafts and the sea', where pieces with a maritime theme made by artisans from the Region of Murcia will be exhibited.
The general director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, assured that "this exhibition is intended to attract tourists and visitors who are in the Region during these days spending their vacations, so that they can visit and learn about the centers, in addition to buy souvenirs and products made by regional artisans”.
Among the products there are ceramics with marine motifs, beach mats, costume jewellery, fans, baskets and marine-inspired T-shirts, amphorae, sculptures, paintings and decoration in general.
Twenty artisans from the region have participated in this exhibition: Flyppy, glassmaker; Eduardo M. Gea, painter-illustrator; Toballe, shoemaker; Anabel del Canto, art enameler; Martín Lario García 'Eusebio', potter-ceramist; Carmen Martínez Azorín, stained glass window; Aidemar, potter; Artellano, weaver of jarapas; Marisa Peaguda, potter-ceramist; Lidia Cassi, painter-illustrator; Iluminada Hernández, potter-ceramist; Rosana González, painter-illustrator; Isabel Puig, bag designer; Conartere, bag designer; Ángel Luis Molina Guillén, saddler; Sasasú, bag designer; Alfredo Caral, fabric decorator; Juan and Silverio Piñero Ayala, potter-ceramist; Carmen Martínez Azorín, stained glass window; Abellán Coronel, artistic locksmith.
The Community opens the deadline to request aid to artisans and maintain, reactivate and promote artisan activity
The Ministry of Business announced on Saturday, June 19, in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) the call for subsidies for self-employed artisans, micro-SMEs and companies serving crafts with a credit of 150,000 euros
The Ministry of Business, Employment, Universities and Spokesperson has called for grants aimed at artisans, craft companies and companies at the service of crafts in the Region of Murcia with the aim of helping them maintain, reactivate and boost their economic activity in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The general director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, stressed that "during this crisis situation caused by the pandemic, artisans have been forced to significantly reduce their activity and are being particularly affected, so it is urgent to provide them with financial support that allows them to face the present and future situation in the best conditions”. In this sense, he added that "from the Ministry of Business extraordinary measures are being taken to preserve, maintain and reactivate this strategic sector for entrepreneurship and the economy of the Region".
This new call order will allow artisans to request a subsidy of up to 90 percent of the investment made from January 1, 2021 up to one year after the effective payment of the subsidy, with a limit of aid per applicant of 3,000 euros. . The deadline for submitting applications will end on July 21.
Artisan companies, individual artisans and craft service companies that have a workforce of less than ten workers, dedicated to the production of artisan products or to offering services to crafts and whose workshop or service center is located in the Region may be beneficiaries. of Murcia.
Investments made in artisan workshops for the maintenance and economic reactivation caused by the pandemic declared by Covid-19 that allow the modification or increase of artisan activity, through various actions, will be considered eligible projects and expenses.
As explained by the general director, "this new call order allows artisans to receive subsidies for investments in innovation, design, production, marketing, communication, training, quality, acquisition of machinery, works, tests or incorporation of information technologies and the communication". They can also request them, he added, for "actions related to electronic commerce, generational change, participation in fairs, exhibitions, contests, samples, investments in rentals and workshop supplies, acquisition of raw materials from external suppliers and social craft activities aimed at rehabilitation or insertion of people with disabilities or groups at risk of social exclusion”.
