During the month of April in the Regional Craft Centers of Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca, a selection of both traditional ceramic and creative ceramic products has been made, to decorate homes with handmade items by artisans from the Region of Murcia. .

The selected traditional ceramic artisans have been Mercedes Tudela Muñoz “El Poveo”, the master artisan Rosa María Playá Pérez “Cerámicas Playá” and the artisan company Pottery Lario Piñero SL.

In creative ceramics, Martín Lario García "Eusebio", Marisa Peaguda "Eolo Cerámica", Juan and Silverio Piñero Ayala and Francisco José Montalbán "Urcilla" have been selected.

Currently, there are twenty-nine family workshops registered, specifically fourteen individual artisans and fifteen artisan companies.

At present, the ceramics of Murcia register a production that is directed mainly to three vectors.

On the one hand, there is the traditional and domestic pottery, made by Pottery Lario Piñero, Rosa María Playá or Mercedes Tudela Muñóz.

Secondly, and as a consequence of the loss of consumption of traditional vessels, many artisans sought commercial outlets through other manifestations of vast ceramics with: flowerpots, spice racks, pots and clay jars, which are mostly sold in the national market. . This type of ceramic is made by Damián Cánovas Cánovas, Europol or Francisco Javier Tudela Cayuela.

The last group of artisans in an effort to diversify production and seek new expansion formulas, is the one that is currently reaping the greatest commercial successes by introducing variations and innovations in the design and color of their products, with creative ceramics.
