Below you can find out about the different candidates for the Regional Crafts Awards:

A. “A VITAL PROJECT” BY MARÍA LUISA PEAGUDA GONZÁLEZ

The Eolo Cerámica studio, directed by Marisa Peaguda, began its journey in 1992. Trained at the School of Art and Crafts, graduated in Fine Arts and Master Craftswoman, she has several ceramics awards and the Mercury of the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia and has been selected for various projects in collaboration with the Development Institute and the Spanish Foundation for Crafts, among others.

Marisa combines, in her pieces, traditional and current techniques, uniting innovation and craftsmanship. The nature of his pieces is varied, since in his studio, he is dedicated to both interior design and decoration. Addressing from exterior murals to products and pieces for interior. This artisan is distinguished by the craftsmanship with which each of her pieces are made and by the color of the glaze that prints a personal seal of dialogue between the work and the author.

B. “AMALUR NATURE” BY MARÍA DEL PILAR BLAYÁ VERDÚ

Amalur Nature is a company dedicated to the production of handmade soaps and cosmetics. Located on the Murcian coast, it is born from creativity and love for traditions, alternative therapies, the wisdom of our ancestors and the natural resources provided by Amalur, Mother Earth.

Designer soaps and plant-based ointments. They believe in the healing power of plants, in grandmother's recipes and in adapting all that knowledge to modern times. The entire production process, from product formulation to packaging and labeling, is carried out by the loving hands of the artisan. All products are sustainable as they use 100% recycled % packaging.

He believes in responsible purchasing, and believes that it is essential to eliminate chemicals from our body as much as possible. We do not feed on oil, and yet we use it on our skin... a hygiene based on natural products would avoid unnecessary visits to the pharmacy. Many of the dermatological problems or discomforts are due to incorrect personal hygiene, with aggressive products. When we stop attacking our skin, it stops asking for help. Vegan, natural, handmade and biodegradable products packaged in recycled plastic, respectful of the environment. Without intermediaries; the contact details of the company are those of the person who formulates, manufactures and distributes the products.

c. “GLASS AND IRON ON FIRE” BY FLYPPY CB

In Flyppy's works, the presence of the glass material prevails over any other reading or interpretation. "Spontaneity" is what he likes most when working with glass. «It's very immediate, you don't have to wait for it to dry, like ceramics, nor do you need a mold, like in the case of bronze; here everything is more spontaneous and allows you to improvise». And for more than two decades he has been working with these materials, which combine hardness and fragility, to create lamps and sculptures of plants or animals and insects –some of them luminous, to enhance “the play of glass with light”– such as ladybugs , spiders, herons, fish, bulls, owls, butterflies...

Think the most utopian to turn it into the most original reality. It is not a contradiction, but the essence that spills its sculptural elements or, let's say it another way, its pieces of broken iron and informal glass, transformed into sculptures brimming with elegance and creativity.

D. “EL TURRO” BY FRANCISCO JOSÉ HERNÁNDEZ BANEGAS

This artisan company, now known by the trade name "El Turro", was founded in 1840 by Antonio Martínez Carrión, great-grandfather of the current owner, Francisco Hernández. His first workshop was on Pajar del Rey street in the popular neighborhood of San Juan (Murcia). Currently "El Turro" makes nougat, fig bread, syrup and pumpkin, "Paquicos" candies, proverb candies, dried apricot bread and Abarán baby clothes, all of them typical Murcian products, made with the same recipes of the founder of this artisan saga of the candy store.

This company received a Special Mention for Crafts at the Mercurio Awards in 2000.

E. MARTIN LARIO GARCÍA POTTERY (EUSEBIO)

Pottery Martín Lario García (Eusebio) was founded in 1988, when Martín took over the business that his father, Eusebio Lario, managed.

Being a family business, passed down from generation to generation, it has always been linked to the trade, learning to turn, model and decorate clay from a very young age, always showing great concern in the search for new shapes and colors. It always preserves the artisanal way of manufacturing the pieces, each one of them unique.

Despite the precariousness that has always accompanied the artisan sector, this ceramic family has been able to adapt to the demands of the market by creating, based on traditional ceramics, avant-garde, cheerful, daring and colorful designs.

Characteristics for which it stands out: Wide variety of models: it currently works with 25-30 different decorations on pieces of unique/several formats that are updated depending on the demand for the product and market trends at that time. Made and decorated by hand: there are decorations and models that are gradually transformed in such a way that a slight evolution can be seen over time. Other pieces are totally new, arising from any moment of inspiration (or by chance) of whoever decorates them.

Its production is marketed throughout the national territory and in some European countries such as France, Italy, Holland, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. It has some inclusion in the American market.
