and. “SPIDER AND SNAIL” BY ISMAEL CEREZO RAMÍREZ AND OTHERS CB

https://flyppy.com/

In the works of Ismael Cerezo, Flyppy, the presence of the glass material prevails over any other reading or interpretation. "Spontaneity" is what he likes most when working with glass. «It's very immediate, you don't have to wait for it to dry, like ceramics, nor do you need a mold, like in the case of bronze; here everything is more spontaneous and allows you to improvise». And for more than two decades he has been working with these materials, which combine hardness and fragility, to create lamps and sculptures of plants or animals and insects –some of them luminous, to enhance “the play of glass with light”– such as ladybugs , spiders, herons, fish, bulls, owls, butterflies...

On this occasion, it presents 2 pieces from the Bichos collection, a blue spider and a yellow snail, made with recycled materials, such as iron and part of the glass used for the mixture. The polished and informal technique shown in these pieces reflects the personal development of the iron and glass sculpture technique and the simplicity shows mastery when using this technique.
