The activities begin today with a talk by the director of the Salzillo Museum and the inauguration of three simultaneous exhibitions of nativity scenes from the Region in the centers of Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca
The Craft Centers of the Region celebrate the week of the 'traditional clay nativity scene' by organizing simultaneous exhibitions and conferences. The activities began on November 22, at the Murcia Craft Center with a talk 'The Scenery in the Nativity scenes: The case of the Region of Murcia', by the director of the Salzillo Museum, María Teresa Marín.
Subsequently, the exhibition 'Nativity scenes from the Region of Murcia' was inaugurated simultaneously in the centers of Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca, where most of the traditional clay nativity scenes officially registered in the Region's artisan register are represented: Manuel Nicolás Almansa SL Belenes Murcia, Jesús Griñán SL Prometeo Foundation. Serrano Crafts. AM Thermoformed "Mirete". Manuel Grinan Lopez. Figuralia SL Master Craftsmen SL María del Mar Blázquez Martínez.
The general director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, highlighted "the region's nativity scene tradition, which we spread with actions such as this week of activities in order to bring this world closer to citizens and to promote our nativity scenes".
In the Regional Craft Center of Murcia, five sets will be exhibited provided by the nativity scene associations of Fuente Álamo, Lorca, Yecla, San Francisco de Asís de Jumilla and the Friends of the Bethlehem Association of San Javier.
In addition, next Saturday, November 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Regional Craft Center of Murcia has organized a nativity scene set design workshop called 'Express ruin workshop for your Nativity scene', taught by the Association Nativity Scene of Fuente Álamo and aimed at the general public who want to know basic notions in this matter. Registrations will be made by calling 968 35 75 37 or by email to centroartesaniamurcia@salzillosi.com.
The exhibitions can be visited until January 5 from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
